2018 Season Information

Welcome to the 117th edition of the WVU Mountaineer Marching Band!

From its beginnings in 1901 as a band to serve the cadet corps, The Pride has always sought to represent the best of WVU and the State of West Virginia and has rightfully earned respect and honors for its efforts including an appearance in the 2016 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the extremely rare honor of being named a Sudler Trophy honoree in 1997 as the nation’s top collegiate marching band. Together, we inherit and serve as stewards for this legacy as well as add to its story.

We are excited for what the season will bring!

"I’ve heard so many stories about performing pre-game in Milan Puskar and can’t wait to experience it for myself"  -- Steve Lytle, Director of Athletic Bands

Halftime shows have been assembled that will be fun to perform and exciting for audiences including music from “The Incredibles”, “Queen”, and “Panic! @ the Disco”. In addition to our home games, we will travel to Charlotte to play the University of Tennessee as well as Raleigh, NC to play North Carolina State. Both trips will include some side performances. Continuing our commitment to serving our communities, we will perform this year at the Buckwheat Festival. As always, we will do our part to help the team earn its way into post-season play.
