Introducing the 2014 Feature Twirlers

The West Virginia University Marching Band, Marching Band Director Jay Drury, and Twirler Coordinator Dr. Paula Jo Meyer-Stout are pleased to announce the Featured Twirlers who have been selected for the 2014 edition of ???The Pride of West Virginia!???

These three ladies, who were selected by a panel of qualified judges at the finalist auditions on April 12, will have the important task of upholding the high standards of the WVU Feature Twirling program ??? which currently holds the International College Team Twirling Championship Title until February of 2015!

The WVU Marching Band has a tradition of attracting world-class feature twirlers and this season will be no different.

Serving as Feature Twirlers for 2014 are:

Kylie Garner, a native of Elizabethtown, PA and an Exercise Physiology Major here at WVU.  This will be Kylie???s fourth season twirling with the Mountaineer Marching Band.

Toriane Graal, a native of Massilon, OH and a Mathematics major here at WVU.  This will be Toriane???s third season twirling with the Mountaineer Marching Band.

And Alyssa Kinzel, a native of Venetia, PA and a Secondary Math Education major here at WVU.  This will be Alyssa???s first season twirling with the Mountaineer Marching Band.

We would also like to say a heartfelt ???congratulations??? and ???thank you??? to Kirsten Brown and Whitney Godwin, our departing twirlers who will be leaving us to begin the next phase of their lives.  We appreciate all they have done to help continue and advance the tradition of excellence in the WVU Feature Twirling program.

We wish our new Twirlers the best of luck and look forward to their first performance of the 2014 Season as ???The Pride??? travels to Atlanta, GA for the Chick-fil-A Kick-off Game between WVU and the the University of Alabama on Saturday, August 30th.
